Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Affordable Housing Investors Council to increase knowledge
of the benefits of investing in affordable housing tax credit
properties, to educate corporate investors on all aspects of affordable housing,
and to discuss issues of importance to investors in the industry.
AHIC
exists for the purpose of increasing
understanding and disseminating information in a fast-changing environment
influenced by government policy, federal tax law, real estate development,
corporate tax accounting policies and tax credit syndication. AHIC is
able to effect its policies through the following efforts:

Educate members on investment techniques, policies, procedures and
operations within the affordable housing tax credit industry.

Raise awareness among corporate executives, management and boards of
directors to encourage them to invest in affordable housing tax credit
programs.

Share information and insight regarding issues of importance concerning
affordable housing tax credit properties and affordable housing tax credit
investing.

Develop and recommend industry standards for: investment criteria, yield
calculations, financial reporting, asset/portfolio management and operating
efficiencies, among others, to benefit corporate investors.

Disseminate information to existing or new members.

Provide support to corporations entering the tax credit investment market.

Circulate and discuss topics of interest to all investors; generate ideas
and gain consensus on procedures and practices that benefit participants in
affordable housing.
